When I began doing seminars at Restore Omaha, I realized there was a pent-up need for education on the restoration, repair and maintenance problems old homes typically present. I found that once an owner of an older home gets enough information about the right ways to handle those problems, a certain percentage of them would hire my company to do the work. Seven years ago, restoration service made up about 15% of my business, now that figure is closer to 80% – and I enjoy the added benefit of meeting and getting to know owners of historic homes from all over the city and surrounding towns.
