Stained glass job at Central High School

Painted Light Stained Glass, owned and operated by Valerie Spellman Batt, specializes in custom stained glass windows for the home and business. She loves the challenge of coming up with designs that express the desires of her clients.

“Custom stained glass windows can be made to fit any window opening,” Batt said. “Windows can be made to hang or be installed against an existing window. Mouth blown antique glass or machine made glass is used, depending on the budget and the desired look. I use the technique of lead came or soldered copper foil to fabricate windows. Oftentimes, it will be a combination of the two.”

Batt also repairs and restores old stained glass windows and creates stained glass artwork, custom fused glass images, jewelry and other items.

A native of Omaha, Batt loved growing up in the Midwest. She caught the stained glass bug in 1993 and received her glass training in Tucson, Ariz., and Las Vegas. She has a studio at the Hot Shops Art Center in Omaha. For more information, visit paintedlightglass.com.

While many of the companies and products listed have successful track records with historic renovation projects, their presence in the REO Resource Directory in no way constitutes a recommendation or endorsement by Restoration Exchange Omaha. As you would with any project, we encourage you to check references and conduct a thorough review prior to making a selection. If you’re a business or organization that works in the restoration field and would like to be considered for inclusion in the directory, we encourage you to submit an application.
