Restoration Exchange Omaha recently assisted Jessica McKay of Birdhouse Interiors in the design of a new interior space for the historic Flatiron building.
REO worked with a postcard collector, searched local photo archives, found old articles in the downtown public library and even uncovered a 1949 Mid-West Hotel Reporter magazine article with a story and pictures of the newly refurbished hotel from the New York Public Library. All items were digitized at a high resolution and then enlarged, printed and framed. The images now offer visitors a glimpse of what the Hotel Flatiron used to look like while they enjoy viewing the new look Birdhouse Interiors has created for today.
