Postcard & Paper Show on March 28

Collectors of postcards and related ephemera will want to visit the Omaha Postcard & Paper show on March 28. The free event will be held at the Westside Community Center near 108th and Grover from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. REO Executive Director Kristine Gerber will have for sale postcards, fliers and books celebrating Omaha’s history.

Prospect Hill Needs Cleanup Helpers March 28

Volunteers are needed to help clean up the grounds of Prospect Hill Cemetery on March 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Omaha’s “Pioneer Cemetery,” Prospect Hill has been suffered from vandalism and budget woes. Bring rakes and other garden tools to help spruce up the grounds where many of Omaha’s prominent early citizens are buried. The cemetery is located near 32nd and Parker Streets, about five blocks south of Lake Street.

In celebration of Landmarks Inc. 50th anniversary, Restoration Exchange is reviving Landmarks’ Preservation Awards program. Saving Places, A Preservation Celebration will honor outstanding  residential and commercial restorations plus recognize the individuals and craftsmen who are making preservation happen in Omaha and the surrounding communities. Mark Maser, Karen Sundell and Kate Grabill are co-chairing the celebration May 14 at Kutak Rock and the Scottish Rite.
