On January 2, Nebraska joined states across the country in offering the Nebraska Historic Tax Credit (NHTC) good for 20% of the of eligible expenditures incurred for rehabilitation work on a historic property. According to Lissa Schwab, Tax Incentive Coordinator at the Nebraska State Historic Preservation Office, her office has received 32 applications through January 21. Of those, 12 projects across the state have received approval and $6.1 million was allocated in tax credits. This represents, at a minimum, $30 million in investments to historic properties in our state in 2015.
Exciting news! The remaining 20 applications were sent back to the submitters to gather more information.
Stay tuned for more information on projects funded in the Omaha area once we have it.
